ED Gets Court Nod To Question Scam Accused
The CBI special court allows the Enforcement Directorate to conduct probes in the Obulapuram Mining Corporation's illegal mining case, the Emaar Properties case, and Jagan's assets case.

The CBI special court, on Tuesday, gave its nod to the Enforcement Directorate to conduct a probe against the accused in Obulapuram Mining Corporation's illegal mining case, the Emaar Properties case, and the disproportionate assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The special court, while giving permission to the ED to initiate the probe, directed the agency to complete it within 15 days.
Following the court's directions, the ED will launch investigations against Nimmagadda Prasad, and senior bureaucrats Brahmananda Reddy and B P Acharya, in connection with the disproportionate assets case of Jaganmohan Reddy.
The ED will also probe against Gali Janardhan Reddy's brother-in-law B V Srinivasa Reddy, and former bureaucrats Y Srilakshmi and Rajagopal, in connection with the OMC mining case.
The special court also permitted the ED to question B P Acharya, Koneru Prasad, Sunil Reddy and Vijay Raghav in connection with the Emaar Properties scam. The court said that the ED must question all the accused in the presence of lawyers, between 10am to 5pm, and that it cannot resort to third degree methods during questioning. (INN)
