EC Gives Conditional Permission For Telangana Cabinet Meet
The Cabinet meeting, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, was postponed due to permission not being received even by 7 pm from the Commission.

The Election Commission of India has given the green signal for the proposed Telangana Cabinet meeting, with some conditions.
The Cabinet meeting, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, was postponed due to permission not being received even by 7 pm from the Commission.
ECI Principal Secretary Avinash Kumar in a letter informed the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj that only those matters which were an emergency and were to be implemented in a time-bound schedule should be taken up during the Cabinet meeting.
"The Cabinet meeting may take up only matters which are emergent and urgent, and can't wait till June 4, 2024," Kumar said in the letter.
Accordingly, the agenda items regarding discussing Hyderabad ceasing to be common capital on June 2 and the crop loan waiver needed be deferred till the lifting of the model code of conduct in State, on June 5, the letter said. Moreover, no State government officer involved in the conduct of the elections should be called to attend the meeting.
With the ECI giving permission for the Cabinet meeting, the State government has decided to conduct it at the Secretariat at 3 PM on Monday.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will chair the meeting.
