Former minister and BJP MLA Eatala Rajender today slammed rival and TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, and said that there was no comparison between him and the Congress MP.
Addressing media persons at a press conference held to rebut the comments made by Reddy against him, Eatala said that he had gone to jail twice when he was a student for the sake of the people of the State, but that Revanth Reddy had gone to jail in the cash-for-vote scam trying to bribe an MLA.
"Revanth Reddy went to jail on personal corruption charges. I went to jail holding public protest programs and movements. There is no comparison between Revanth Reddy and me," Eatala said.
Referring to the shedding of tears by Reddy at the Charminar Bhagyalakshmi temple yesterday, Eatala also said that a leader who fought on public problems would never shed tears. He also alleged that Reddy had spoken in a derisive manner while shedding tears, clearly showing that it was not heart-felt.
Eatala reiterated that he did not target any leader personally, and that he had held his press conference to talk about Singereni Collieries. He said that he had said only that the national political parties would only indulge in politics driven by Delhi.
He also alleged that the BRS and the Congress had joined hands to trouble the BJP in Telangana. He pointed out that BRS leaders spoke out in support of Rahul Gandhi after his conviction in a defamation case by a Surat court. He also said that the BRS leader K Keshava Rao and Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge had spoken together recently.
