Demanding that the State government conduct the EAMCET 2 examination - the medical college entrance - again, the Telangana Congress warned the government that it would stage a dharna in front of the Chief Minister's camp office along with the aspirants and their parents if the former failed to conduct the test within 15 days.
The Party also demanded that the State government order a CBI inquiry into the alleged paper leak, saying that it mistrusted the State's CID.
The Congress alleged that the TRS government was not taking the issue seriously. It said that the government had given the contract to conduct the examination to Magnetic InfoTech, a fraudulent company that had been blacklisted by the SSC and Intermediate boards due to its misconduct, putting the students' future in peril.
Magnetic InfoTech had failed to prepare a merit list of 1,400 students for IIT-JEE in 2014 due to which those students couldn't secure seats, the Congress said, and castigated the government for assigned the duty of conducting EAMCET, and also ECET, LAWCET, EdCET, OUCET, KUCET and the police recruitment examinations, to the same company without doing a background check.
The Party also claimed that the company was using faulty biometric machines to ensure that certain preferred students got through.
Pointing out that the education department chose Magnetic Infotech over TCS, which had a high reputation, the Congress alleged that the education department was in cahoots with the company.
