The TRS today slammed as baseless the allegation by the Opposition in Telangana that some of its ministers were involved in the EAMCET-2 paper leak scandal.
Addressing the media at the Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, TRS MLC Rajeshwar Reddy condemned the Opposition parties for their remarks, and asserted that none of the TRS' ministers was linked to anyone from Magnetic Infotech (the company which conducted the EAMCET-2 exams).
Reddy said that the company had been printing OMR sheets for the examination since 2012, and alleged that the Opposition leaders were indulging in false propaganda to confuse the victims.
"No minister will resign over the paper leak as none of them is even remotely involved," he said categorically.
The students shouldn't panic as the government was doing everything it could to deliver justice, Reddy said. All measures would be taken to bring the culprits to justice under the law, he promised.
Another MLA B Venkateshwarlu also accused the Opposition of maligning the ruling party. Everyone knew that soon after the leak Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had ordered an inquiry to bring facts to light, a fact which only the Opposition seems to have ignored, he said.
