Noted Tollywood director Puri Jagannadh's video message on Twitter has been getting support from the film industry, with several cine personalities extending their support to him.
On Thursday, Puri got support from
Loafer hero Varun Tej and popular character artiste Prakash Raj. Varun Tej said that Puri was a good person and that he had never seen Puri using drugs during the Loafer shooting. Puri used to keep himself in good condition and also used to urge others to take care on their health, Varun Tej said.
Prakash Raj, too, responded on the Puri issue in his Twitter account. He said, "It is high time we the people and the media realise it's not fair to sensationalise issues before the complete truth comes out."
Influential producer Dil Raju sarcastically said that the media people knew more about drugs than the film artistes. He said that he was learning about drugs through the media, and that 10 people committing a mistake didn't translate to all people in the industry committing it.
He said that the film industry would take up a campaign on avoiding drugs.
Noted producer Ashwini Dutt said that the drug culture was there in all sectors and not just the film industry, and so it was not correct to point fingers at only the film industry. He commended Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister K T Rama Rao for initiating steps to control the drugs mafia with an iron hand.
