Drugs Case: Chargesheets Filed On Tollywood Accused
The Telangana excise and prohibition officials filed four charge-sheets against some accused, including a film director and two heroes, in the court concerned.

The noose around some important people in Tollywood appears to be tightening with the Telangana excise and prohibition officials filing four charge-sheets against some accused, including a film director and two heroes, in the court concerned.
Readers will recall that the drugs case shook the Telugu film industry as also the state earlier. Of the drug samples of three film artistes sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad for examination at that time, the samples of two tested positive, and a report has been sent to the court and a charge-sheet filed by the SIT on Friday.
Excise Commissioner Akun Sabharwal heads the investigation team which questioned many people, including 10 persons from Tollywood personalities comprising heroes, heroines and even a director. The Tollywood personalities who were interrogated include Puri Jagannadh, Ravi Teja, Tarun, Navdeep, Nandu, Tanish, Charmee, Mumaith Khan, Subbaraju and Shyam K Naidu. Of these, three were asked to give samples of their blood, nails and hair. They were submitted to the forensic department for further investigation.
On receipt of the forensic reports, the SIT has filed charge-sheets against three persons. The forensic reports of a few others were yet to be received by the SIT, Sabharwal said.
As it has already been reported, the prime accused in the case, Calvin, has been granted bail by the Nampally criminal court.
