Drinking Water To Medak, RR Dists By April-End: KTR
Safe drinking water would reach the Medak and Ranga Reddy districts by the end of this very month thanks to Mission Bhagiratha, the Telangana minister said.
Telangana IT, Panchayat Raj and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao today said that the fruits of Mission Bhagiratha would reach the people in weeks now as safe drinking water would be supplied to the Medak and Ranga Reddy districts by the end of this very month thanks to the project.
During a high-level review meeting on Thursday, the minister exuded confidence that the prestigious program would be inaugurated by the end of April itself.
KTR also asked the officials to coordinate and complete the tender works related to fiber grid program in two weeks, and also providing an internet connection to every house in six months.
KTR said that with the fiber grid, the villages of Telangana would usher in a new era characterized by an information revolution, with internet access enabling them to avail themselves of e-Health and e-Vidya programs to get online information on the health and education initiatives of the government.
"Mission Bhagiratha should be implemented in the Nizamabad and Khammam districts in the second phase, which should also get internet access by that time," he told the officials.
He also said that Mission Bhagiratha would supply safe drinking waters to the fluoride-affected Munugodu and Devarkonda segments in the Nalgonda district by the next summer.
As the monsoon was predicted to hit the State a bit early this year, steps would be taken to construct intake wells in a safe manner, he added.
