Union minister for labour and employment Bandaru Dattatreya inspected the proposed double bedroom houses' construction site at Sai Nagar, Lalapet, Secunderabad, today, and interacted with the beneficiaries.
The total houses to be constructed are 104, at a cost of Rs 8.03 crores.
Addressing the media later, the union minister said that the processes of construction of the double bedroom houses and the identification of the beneficiaries were proceeding very slowly, and urged the state government to expedite the process.
He said that the paces of land pooling, tendering, identifying beneficiaries etc. were all quiteslow. He advised the state government to focus on the court litigations to make the construction faster.
Dattatreya visited each house in the area and inquired about the employment and well-being of the inmates. Recalling the past, Dattatreya said that when he was a Member of Parliament during 1991-96, he was instrumental in granting house site pattas to the residents of the colony in 1996.
He urged the state government to focus on skill development for the youth of the slums in Telangana. He declared that the 6th Job Mela in Telangana by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt of India, would be conducted at Nizamabad on 19th August.
Dattatreya also inaugurated a website connecting scientists, science companies and science students aimed at job creation, developed by an entrepreneur.
