2nd Phase Of Double Bedroom Houses Distribution In GHMC On Sep 21
A total of 13,300 houses will be handed over to the beneficiaries on that day.

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao today announced that the second phase of the distribution of free double bedroom houses in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits would be held on September 21, and that a total of 13,300 houses would be handed over to the beneficiaries on that day.
KTR participated in a review meeting on the distribution of free double bedroom houses held at the chamber of Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav at the Secretariat. Ministers Yadav, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Mahmood Ali and Malla Reddy, city MLAs and MLCs, and the Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal district Collectors were also present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that except in Telangana, there was no double bedroom scheme in the country for the poor with an area of 560 square feet per house.
He said that the value of the each of double bedroom houses being offered by the State government in the GHMC limits was Rs 50 lakh, and that the construction cost of these one lakh double bedroom houses was Rs 9,100 crore.
On the occasion, KTR congratulated the officials and elected representatives for completing the first phase of the distribution of the double bedroom houses successfully, and asked them to make all the necessary arrangements for the second phase program to be held on September 21.
He also said that the identification of the double bedroom house beneficiaries was being done in a transparent manner, and that no one, including MLAs, ministers and other elected representatives, was involved in the selection process.
He also announced that the Gruha Lakshmi scheme would start soon in Hyderabad.
