Don't Use Bhagyalakshmi Temple For Political Feuding: Congress
The Telangana Congress today urged the leaders of all parties not to use the Charminar Bhagyalakshmi temple for political challenges and counter-challenges.
TPCC senior vice-president G Niranjan today urged the leaders of all political parties not to use the Charminar Bhagyalakshmi temple for their political challenges and counter-challenges.
The sanctity of the temple and its spiritual atmosphere would be disturbed by these sorts of activities, he added.
The TPCC leader was referring to BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy challenging BJP leaders to come to the temple on Sunday to prove their allegations against him.
Speaking to mediapersons in Gandhi Bhavan, Niranjan said that thousands of devotees from all corners of the country and world visited the temple daily for a darsan of the goddess, and that these kinds of political actions would disturb their peace and attention.
"It is not proper. Rohith Reddy can sit at any chowrastha and make his challenges - he should leave the temple out. Any individual can have a darsan of the Matha, but the temple organisers should not allow anyone to misuse the premises for their political purposes. I request the media and the police too to see that no one speaks on political issues at the temple," Niranjan said.
