The NTPC fly ash controversy between minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, of the BRS, has intensified.
Padi had challenged the minister to take an oath if he did not commit any corruption in the issue, at the Venkateswara Swamy temple in Hyderabad's Film Nagar, and reached the temple at 11 am on Wednesday.
"Ponnam Prabhakar made false allegations against me. If he did not do anything wrong, why didn't he come to take an oath?" Padi asked.
He said that it had now been proved that Ponnam had committed a scam of Rs 100 crore.
Padi also announced that he had started a black book in the name of Ponnam, and that action would be taken against Ponnam after the BRS returned to power in the State.
Reddy was detained at his residence in Veenavanka yesterday after he reacted sharply to the allegations levelled by Congress Huzurabad constituency in-charge Odithela Pranav. He publicly swore with wet clothes at residence that he did not commit any corruption. In Singapur village, Pranav was stopped from coming out of his house by the police
The BRS district president G V Ramakrishna Rao was also detained by the police in his house in Manakondur.
The high drama, which lasted for three hours, saw interest across the State.
