Legislators of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) lodged a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) of the State Anjani Kumar against Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy over his remarks about blowing up the Chief Minister's official residence.
Six BRS MLCs led by Palla Rajeshwar Reddy called on the DGP and submitted a written complaint against Revanth Reddy.
They demanded that the remarks of the Congress leader be viewed seriously and action be taken against him as per law.
The BRS leaders slammed Revanth Reddy's remark that even if Maoists blew up the official residence of the Chief Minister with explosives, it would be of little consequence as it was of no use to the people.
They wondered how a Member of Parliament could talk about blowing up government buildings.
Rajeshwar Reddy was accompanied by T Arvind Rao, L Ramana, Tata Madhu, Shambhipur Raju and D Vithal.
Meanwhile, at the BRSLP office, ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Satyavathi Rathod, and other BRS MLAs belonging to the combined Warangal district, criticised Revanth Reddy for making inflammatory comments against the Chief Minister, and termed him as a broker in politics.
"There will be no future for the Congress in Telangana as long as Revanth Reddy is with the party. He has already been in all other opposition parties. Every party he was associated with now has no credibility among the people. Reddy is considered an iron leg in politics. He doesn't deserve to be the TPCC president, and the Congress should think over his continuation in the party," Dayakar Rao said.
Elsewhere, BRS activists and leaders burnt effigies of Revanth Reddy in all the mandals of Narsampeta Assembly constituency, condemning his comments. The program was held following a call by the MLA of the constituency Peddi Sudarshan Reddy. They also conducted a funeral procession of Reddy on the occasion.
