The conclusion of the annual Bhavani Deeksha at Vijayawada's Sri Kanakadurga temple is on from 3 to 7 January, and there is disappointment in the air.
Devotees are expressing disappointment at the lack of arrangements for the heavy rush of people at the temple, that has seen increasing crowds every year. The water of the river, that pilgrims dip into for their holy bath, remains polluted, and no effort was seemingly made to clean the place up.
A disagreement between two EOs is said to have caused the neglect in arrangements.
The Sri Kanakadurga temple is located on the hill Indrakeeladri, and is thronged by thousands of pilgrims to conclude the Bhavani Deeksha every year.
