Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on Monday stated that the state government is taking all possible measures to ensure the overall development of Rangareddy district.
Talking to media persons after unfurling the tricolour at Cyberabad Police Commissionarate office at Gachibowli, on Independence Day, the Home Minister said the government would implement a comprehensive plan to develop Ranga Reddy in various sectors.
Apart from drinking water requirements, 3 lakh acres in the district would receive irrigation facilities as well, if the Pranahita-Chevella Projects are completed in due course, she stated.
The Home Minister also added that the government would spend Rs. 182 crore to conserve lakes in the district, under the NABARD scheme.
A new scheme will be launched soon to solve the drinking water problem in the 132 fluoride-hit villages in the district, she announced.
To solve Tandur's drinking water problem, the government has proposed a Rs. 26 crore Manjira drinking water supply scheme, she said, and added that that Centre has sanctioned Rs. 148 crore to develop Vikarabad as a satellite town with all amenities.
Rangareddy District Collector Seshadri, Cyberabad Police commissioner Tirumala Rao, and Superintendent of Police Bhimanayak were present at the program. (INN)
