Development Of Hyderabad Will Be Top Priority: Mahmood Ali
The Telangana Deputy CM said that the discrimination between the Old City and the new city would be ended, and the entire GHMC area would be developed together.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali on Sunday said that the TRS government would give top priority to the comprehensive development and beautification of Hyderabad.
Speaking to media persons after taking charge at the State Secretariat, Mahmood Ali said that the government would end discrimination between the Old City and the new city, and that the entire GHMC area would be developed as a single unit.
He said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had already instructed officials to prepare a plan to provide civic amenities to a population of 2 crore people.
He said that the vision adopted by the last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan would be followed in taking up developmental activities in the city.
Mahmood Ali, who also holds the portfolio of Revenue, announced the setting up of a helpline to resolve issues related to Revenue Department.
He said that the helpline would be supervised by an IAS officer.
He informed that nearly 1,700 acres of government land was under encroachment in the city. He said that no survey of government land was conducted since 1957, and a survey started in Nizambad in the recent past too remained incomplete.
He said that immediate steps would be taken for the streamlining of entire departments.
The Deputy Chief Minister warned officials and staff against irregularities and corruption. He said that corrupt officials and staff would not be transferred, but directly suspended.
He said that the welfare of the poor would be the main priority of the TRS government, and that all its schemes would be directed towards the eradication of poverty and empowerment of the common man.
Earlier, Mahmood Ali offered thanksgiving prayers at his chambers, and assumed charge in the presence of Deputy CM Dr T Rajaiah, ministers T Harish Rao, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and K Tarakarama Rao, and others. (INN)
