The Deputy Tahsildar from Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Anand Kumar Reddy, who allegedly intruded into the house of senior IAS officer Smita Sabharwal, has been suspended from service.
The Medchal-Malkajgiri district Collector on Monday issued orders suspending the Deputy Tahsildar.
Officials of the revenue department will serve the orders to Reddy in the Chanchalguda Central Jail, where he is currently lodged.
The incident reportedly took place on the night of January 19, but came to light on Sunday.
Sabharwal, who is a Secretary to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, raised an alarm on noticing the intruder in her house located in the upscale Jubilee Hills. The security staff at the top bureaucrat's house then caught the man and handed him over to police.
Reddy was booked under Section 458 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code. His friend K Babu, who was waiting in a car outside the house, was also caught and handed over to the police.
