Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on Friday demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy be removed from his post "with immediate effect".
Speaking to media persons here, Rajanarasimha alleged that the Chief Minister is delaying the tabling of the Telangana Bill in the Assembly through various means.
Stating that the people of Telangana had lost faith in the CM, he demanded a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) to formalise the removal of Kiran Kumar Reddy from the post.
The Deputy CM said that a senior official of the union home ministry had brought the draft Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013 to Hyderabad, in a special aircraft on Thursday evening.
"However, Kiran Kumar Reddy deliberately delayed sending the Bill to the Assembly," he alleged.
He said that he spoke to Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty, who received the Bill, and inquired about the delay in sending the Bill.
Rajanarasimha accused the CM of waiting "till the Assembly was adjourned for the day, so that the house could not take up the Bill".
Describing Kiran Kumar Reddy as "anti-Telangana", the Deputy Chief Minister alleged that the former is making all attempts to stall the bifurcation of state. (INN)
