Denied Ticket, Banswada Congress Leader Attempts Suicide

Heartbroken over not getting the party ticket, Congress constituency incharge for Banswada Kasula Balaraju on Wednesday attempted suicide by swallowing pesticide at his home.

As his condition turned critical, he was rushed to the Nizamabad district hospital.

It is being reported that the Congress high command had denied the ticket to Balaraju and given it to Enugu Ravinder Reddy, who recently joined the party from the BJP.

Unable to stomach the insult, Balaraju resorted to the extreme step.

Upon receipt of the information, BRS and BJP leaders rushed to the hospital and consoled Balaraju.

For the uninitiated, Enugula Ravinder Reddy, who lost the 2018 election in the Yellareddy constituency as a BRS candidate, first defected to the BJP, and then recently crossed over to the Congress and got the ticket for the Banswada constituency.
