On the second day of his arrival in Switzerland, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had officials of various companies call on him and express their willingness to invest in Andhra Pradesh.
B K Goenka, Chairman of textile giant Welspun Group, came forward to explore opportunities for setting up a textile manufacturing unit in the State. He said that a team of his company would visit Andhra Pradesh soon to explore the possibilities.
Similarly, Rongfang Yin, president, Trina Solar, called on Naidu and presented the status of the company's project in Visakhapatnam. Rongfang Yin told the AP Chief Minister that they had successfully performed the groundbreaking ceremony on January 12. He said that the project would be completed in a year. He also assured Naidu that the plant would be ready by this time next year.
Dr Roland Busch, a Siemens Managing Board member, met Naidu and expressed interest in setting up a power grid simulation and transport planning system in the State. Dr Busch said that Siemens was a leading pioneer in urban infrastructure, smart grids, transport and signaling, and offered assistance for building AP's new capital Amaravathi. During the meeting, Naidu elaborated on his "Smart Village - Smart Ward" program. "I am keen on implementing the global best practices for building world-class cities", he added.
