Thanking the Congress high command and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for
entrusting him with the responsibility of the post of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president for the third time, D Srinivas on Friday vowed to live up to expectations, and swore to carry out his responsibilities efficiently.
Talking to media persons at his residence in Jubilee Hills, the PCC chief asked for the cooperation of all party members and leaders so that he can work towards strengthening the party in the state at the grassroots level.
He said that all District Congress Committee office-bearers' posts will be filled soon to take the government's schemes to the doorsteps of genuine beneficiaries.
The PCC chief appealed to leaders to raise their problems on the party's fora instead of airing them in the media and putting the government in trouble.
Reacting to a section of leaders openly extending support to former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, DS said the high command would initiate serious action against them at an appropriate time. He said there was no threat to the Kiran Kumar Reddy government in the state, and expressed confidence that the government would complete its term in office.
