Auto Drivers To Be Penalised For Misbehaviour
The Cyberabad Traffic Police will be conducting a week-long awareness programme aimed at inculcating professionalism, orderliness, and discipline in auto drivers.
The Cyberabad Police on Thursday asked auto-rickshaw drivers to adhere to rules to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.
The Cyberabad Police made it mandatory for all auto drivers plying in the Cyberabad limits to invariably wear their uniform while driving autos. They instructed auto drivers not to take extra fair on and above the meter, and to run autos only by meters approved by RTA authorities. No extra passengers are to be allowed beside the driver, i. e., in the front seat.
Auto drivers have been asked to behave politely with the passengers, especially with women passengers.
With connection to the same, the Cyberabad Traffic Police will be conducting an awareness programme for one week, from 18-29 January for auto drivers, aimed at inculcating professionalism, orderliness, a sense of duty and discipline while performing their duty, and also to stress on following the above rules scrupulously.
After the completion of the awareness programme, if auto drivers are still found violating the above rules, they will be severely penalised and will not be allowed to run autos, as per the MV Act rules, the Cyberabad Police said. (INN)
