Crime Rate Down In Telangana: Home Minister

Mahmood Ali today said that the crime rate was on the decline in the state, and that the state's friendly policing was becoming known across the country.

Telangana Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali today said that Telangana was the only state recruiting a huge number of police personnel.

He also said that the crime rate was on the decline in the state, and that the state's friendly policing and effective law and order were becoming known across the country. He added that the effective work of the SHE Teams of the state had helped reduce incidents of eve teasing.

He made these remarks after inaugurating a training program for a batch of 267 new constables.

The program was held at the CAR headquarters at Petlaburj in Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that Telangana was also providing higher salaries to its police constables, and that constables got good salaries even during their training.

Hyderabad Commissioner of Police P Anjani Kumar also spoke on the occasion, and advised the trainees to adopt time management be good at their jobs.

The induction / training program for over 16,000 police constables and SIs started today across Telangana. During the training a monthly stipend of Rs 9,000 for constables and Rs 11,000 for SIs will be paid.
