One person has been caught for betting during a match between Faisalabad Wolves & Kanduratha Maroons at Mohali.
The sleuths of the Commissioner's Task Force, Central Zone Team, on a tip-off on Sep 20, apprehended one person who has been involved in betting during the ongoing Champions League T20 qualifying cricket match played between Faisalabad Wolves & Kanduratha Maroons at Mohali.
The accused is Arun Kumar Sharma (s/o late Ramavatar Sharma), aged 33 yrs, "occupation: Business and Betting". He is a resident of Flat No. 204, Bagiratha Apartments, Om Nagar, Darusalam Road, Nampally, Hyderabad.
He was found accepting cricket bets from known and unknown punters, over cell phones, for the Faisalabad Wolves vs Kanduratha Maroons at Mohali. He was doing this while watching TV, and also took the help of a live line setup in a (brown) suit case containing cellphones.
On a tip-off, on the night of Sep 20, the Central Zone Task Force Team raided the flat mentioned above, caught Arun Kumar Sharma. The cops seized one black colour LCD 204 TV, one brown colour leather VIP suitcase with a line set-up with connections containing Reliance & Tata Indicom cell phones (13 of them), one Airtel set-top box with a remote control, two cell phones, net cash of Rs. 2,000, two scribbiling pads & two blue ball pens from the possession of the accused.
Arun Kumar, along with the seized material, was handed over to the SHO, Begum Bazar Police Station, for further action.
The arrest of the accused was made under the supervision of P Rameshaiah (Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner's Task Force), A Bhaskar (Inspector of Police, Central Zone Team), SIs S Saida Babu & K Vinod Kumar, and the staff of the Central Zone Team, Commissioner's Task Force, Hyderabad.
