CPI(M) activists staged a dharna at the RBI on Tuesday condemning the Centre's ban on the circulation of the 500 and 1,000 currency bills which caused much havoc across the nation and in Telangana.
The protesters said that the problems of the people persist even two weeks after the demonetization of the two notes.
They pointed out some of the difficulties faced by the poor and the middle-class. They claimed that the move would do less to flush out black money and more to cause harm to the people.
During the announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the situation would be controlled within a few days, but the problems only increased, they claimed.
The CPM leaders submitted a memorandum to the RBI officials.
