Telangana unit CPI senior leader K Narayana said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who brought the economy of the nation to "standstill", had no right to lead the nation anymore.
150 CPI activists including Narayana staged a protest before the RBI Head Office on Tuesday along.
Speaking during the protest, Narayana urged the people to demand the Supreme Court to depose the PM in a court, and said that Modi demonetised the 500 and 1,000 bills without making alternative arrangements or immunizing the public from its aftermath.
He alleged that the Modi government informed corporate companies prior to making the announcement, allowing the latter to convert their black money into accountable wealth.
Terming RBI Governor Urjit Patel a "sadist", Narayana demanded the Centre to remove him from the post.
He demanded that Modi appoint a Parliamentary Joint Committee (PJC) on the entire issue.
The Hyderabad Police had to arrest them as the situation reportedly was getting out of hand, and whisked them away to a nearby police station.
