Communist Party Of India state secretary K Narayana, on Wednesday, said that the CPI would not extend its support to anybody in the Presidential elections scheduled to be held in July.
Talking to media persons, Narayana stated that the party would boycott elections in protest against the delay in the formation of a Telangana state. He accused the UPA's presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee of being responsible for delaying statehood to the region.
The CPI leader also came down heavily on the state government for transferring officials in a haphazard manner in order to shield tainted ministers.
"If the government has any sincerity and commitment, it must suspend the tainted ministers from the cabinet and order an impartial probe against them," he said.
He also demanded that Tamil Nadu governor K Rosaiah resign from his post in the wake of the ACB court issuing a summons against him in connection with the de-notification of lands at Ameerpet in the state capital. (INN)
