Various leaders of the TRS today got vaccinated against Covid-19 in Telangana's ongoing immunisation program.
Among them, was daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, MLC K Kavitha. She went to Hyderabad's NIMS where she received the first of two doses of the vaccine.
Speaking on the occasion, she told the people of the state to avoid believing in any myths and misinformation that raised doubts about the efficacy or the side effects of the vaccine, and urged them to come forward bravely to get immunised against the fatal disease.
Rajya Sabha MP Santosh Kumar and his wife also got vaccinated at the NIMS. Like Kavitha, Kumar too encouraged the people of the state to take the vaccine.
Another prominent leader who got inoculated today was Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy.
After receiving the injection, he urged the people of the state to strictly follow Covid-19 prevention rules to combat the spread of the disease in the state.
The appeal of the leaders to the public, to get vaccinated and to adhere to the required safety protocols, comes at a crucial time - Telangana has been witnessing a
troubling rise in the incidence of Covid-19. The state currently has more than 4,000 active cases.
