As fears of a second wave of Covid-19 rise in the state, the Telangana government has been taking various steps to prevent the spread of the disease, and has also been strengthening the health infrastructure across the state to deal with such an eventuality.
As part of its efforts, the state government has increased the number of tests being carried out daily, and is working to set up 50 more testing centres.
A health bulletin released by the Telangana Medical and Health Department today said that as many as 53,686 persons had undergone Covid-19 tests in Telangana in the last 24 hours.
Of them, 609 persons tested positive, bringing the state's total case tally to 2,71,492 so far.
The bulletin also stated that three patients had succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
