Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy, on Friday, denied that several corporate private schools were violating the prescribed government norms and regulations.
Replying to a question raised by M S Prabhankar rao, Rudraraju Padma Raju and K Dileep Kumar in the Legislative Council during Question Hour, he said that the government has regulated the fee structure for private recognized schools.
He said that instructions have been issued to all District Educational Officers to ensure that all unauthorized private and corporate schools operating in their districts be closed with immediate effect.
Dissatisfied with the minister's reply, MLCs K Yadav Reddy, Prabhakar Rao and P Venkat Rao said that private schools in Hyderabad and other parts of the state were collecting lakhs of rupees as fees, and equal amounts as donation.
They demanded that the government constitute a House committee and enquire into the matter.
The minister said that he would study the issue and consider constituting a judicial committee to look into it. (INN)
