Cool Water For Traffic Police

The ACP (traffic police) has announced that on-duty traffic police personnel will now be provided with specially-designed insulated containers.
Hyderabad | 22nd April 2011
Henceforth, on-duty traffic police personnel will not have to hop into a roadside cafe to quench their thirst, as the Hyderabad Traffic Police department is planning to arm them with a one-litre water bottle each.

The specially designed insulated container can keep water cool for 6 hours, even in extreme heat, said Additional Commissioner Of Police (Traffic) C V Anand on Thursday.

The container would be stamped with the department's logo, and would be issued as part of the traffic personnel kit.

The traffic police personnel would also be provided with special dark-glasses for the protection of their eyes from ultraviolet rays, dust and heat.

"Besides, a disposable nose-mask would be supplied each day," said Anand, and added that the department has also decided to supply Glucose to the traffic policemen to maintain their salt and glucose levels.

The traffic police personnel would be allowed a special summer allowance of Rs. 200 for the months of April and May, he concluded.
