Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao today found fault with the Telangana government for not inviting people from the Telugu-speaking state of Andhra Pradesh to attend the World Telugu Conference.
He said it was astonishing that the government did not invite even the AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to the conference.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, VHR, as he is popularly known, also slammed the state government for ignoring former chief minister and thespian, the late N T Rama Rao, whom he credited with making the greatest contribution to promoting the Telugu language and culture across the world, in the conference proceedings.
The Congress veteran also dubbed the conference a "Bhajan sabha", pointing out to how the government ignored inviting to it famed Telangana poets and singers like Ande Sri, Gaddar and Vimalakka who have had a track record of criticizing the government.
