Telangana Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy said that the language used by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao against him and Telangana JAC Chairman M Kodandaram was "obnoxious".
Speaking to the media at the Assembly complex on Saturday, Jana Reddy said that statehood for Telangana was not realized because of KCR alone but because of all political parties and all sections of the people.
KCR had no respect for seniors and elder people, and this was borne out quite well by the language he chose to use against them, he alleged. KCR was not giving up his use of vulgar language though he was warned in the past about using such language. It was slanderous of him to speak the way he did against first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and his daughter Indira Gandhi, Reddy said.
Stating that he was deeply hurt over the caustic remarks KCR made against him, too, Reddy said that humbling the CM in the 2019 elections would be the only answer to him. (KCR had lambasted CLP leader K Jana Reddy for the latter's "opportunistic politics", and said that Reddy had mortgaged Telangana for posts during the Congress rule in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh.)
Telangana Congress Working President Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress would pull up the Chief Minister in the Assembly in case he failed to withdraw his language. He said the TRS got only 4,000 votes more than Opposition parties despite misusing its power, and that showed how popular it was.
AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao too slammed KCR for belittling the Congress leaders on Friday, and quipped that KCR was feeling like a World Cup winner for winning just a workers' union election, and that too after going all out to misuse his power as the ruler of the entire state. He also lashed out at KCR for dubbing TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy as a "dora", saying that Reddy could not have worked in the Army if he had felt like a dora.
