Congress Seeks Action On TRS Leaders Who Disrobed Woman, Set Husband Afire

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday asked whether the State government had any intention of stopping the atrocities committed by the ruling TRS' leaders in the State.

Referring to the molestation of a woman and the burning of her husband alive by the TRS leaders in Old Bowenpally, Bhatti demanded immediate and stringent action against the accused.

He also asked the State government to provide proper treatment to the husband of the molestation victim, Shankarappa.

Recounting the incident, the CLP leader said that the local TRS leader Madhav Reddy had gotten the wall of a land demolished by his henchmen. After watchman Shankarappa tried to stop them from carrying out this illegal act, the accused stripped the victim Shankarappa's wife naked in order to molest her, and burned Shankarappa by pouring petrol over his body.

He said that Shankarappa was currently fighting for his life at Gandhi Hospital.

The CLP leader said that it was stunning that the local police were reluctant for a long time to register a case against the accused despite such a heinous crime by them and a complaint by the victims. He also said that the atrocities by the TRS leaders in the State were increasing with each passing day.

He demanded again that the police take immediate action against the TRS leaders accused in the crime, and pay for proper treatment to the victim.

He also reminded the police that they should work for the welfare of the people and not for the welfare of the ruling party leaders.
