Congress MLAs S A Sampath Kumar and Ch Vamshichand Reddy claimed that 76 TRS MLAs were responding positively to the Congress' pitch to cast their votes for the UPA's presidential candidate Meira Kumar.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Hall on Tuesday, the two Congress MLAs said that the majority of Telangana's MLAs were ready to cast their votes following their inner voices. They said that the Presidential elections were the best chance for the TRS MLAs to use their votes conscientiously as the state was being destroyed under the clutches of four members of the Chief Minister's family. Sampath added that Vamshichand and he had been appointed as the agents of Meira Kumar for Telangana for the Presidential elections.
Vamshichand said that NDA Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind had spoken against the architect of the Constitution B R Ambedkar, and called upon the MLAs and MPs who had respect for the Constitution to oppose Kovind's candidature.
