Minorities Sub-Plan In The Pipeline: Shabbir
Former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir divulged that the party proposed the passing of a resolution seeking a minorities sub-plan with a budget allocation of Rs. 5,500 crores.
Former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Saturday informed that the Congress party's convention being held on Sunday might pass a resolution seeking a separate sub-plan for the minorities in the state.
Talking to reporters after reviewing the arrangements for the party's convention at LB Stadium along with PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana, Shabbir said that the party proposed the passing of a resolution seeking a minorities sub-plan with a budget allocation of Rs. 5,500 crores.
Shabbir Ali also informed that he met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the latter's camp office to discuss the constitution of the Minorities Commissionerate. He said that the functioning of the State Wakf Board could not brought under the purview of the proposed Commissionerate as the Board functions as per the provisions of the Central Wakf Act. However, he said that a final decision would be taken after considering the opinions of the departments concerned. (INN)
