Cong Not Maligning Jagan: D Srinivas
Pradesh Congress Committee President, D Srinivas, on Wednesday rubbished the recent media reports which stated that the Congress was slandering Jaganmohan Reddy.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President D Srinivas on Wednesday stated that there was no need for the Congress Party to target former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC chief condemned the recent media reports, which stated that the Congress Party was intentionally slandering Jaganmohan Reddy after failing to rein him in the political field.
Describing the media reports as baseless and false, Srinivas said that the opposition had launched a malicious campaign against the Congress to gain political mileage.
The PCC chief also stated that the government has agreed to a Joint Legislature Committee (JLC) probe so that allegations of irregularities in the land allocations to the business associates of former MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy could be cleared.
"Wrongdoings, if any, would be exposed, and the guilty would be punished," Srinivas stated. He also condemned the reports that Congress had made a secret deal with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) over the constitution of the JLC.
Srinivas also stated that Agriculture Minister, Y S Vivekananda Reddy, tendered his resignation because his term as a MLC had come to an end. However, he pointed out that Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, had refused to accept the resignation.
