Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Dr N Raghuveera Reddy, on Monday, announced that the Congress party will come out with a comprehensive plan for the overall development of the Seemandhra region.
Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the on-going bus yatra, Raghuveera Reddy said that the Congress was preparing a document for the development of all 13 districts of the Seemandhra region. He said that all important facilities like irrigation, drinking water, infrastructure and other such pertinent issues will be addressed in the Congress' plans.
Expressing regret over the division of Andhra Pradesh, Raghuveera Reddy said that it was wrong to blame the Congress party alone for the bifurcation.
He said that all political parties, including the TDP and the YSRCP, had also given their consent - in writing - supporting the formation of Telangana, and that after the Congress party had taken the definitive decision, they (the other parties) had changed their stand.
The APCC chief called upon the party cadre to face the situation bravely, and to convince the people that only the Congress can develop Seemandhra.
Union Minister K Chiranjeevi, former minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and other senior leaders were also present at the conference. The Seemandhra Congress leaders are conducting the bus yatra in Guntur district today. (INN)
