Congress Leaders Continue To Lash Out At KTR, KCR

Condemning IT Minister K T Rama Rao's language against the Congress (he had called the Congress a "loafer party") and AICC chief Rahul Gandhi (whom he referred to as "pappu"), Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy today said that it reflected KTR's arrogance and mean mentality.

Speaking at Assembly media hall on Friday along with Congress leaders J Geetha Reddy and T Jeevan Reddy, Jana Reddy said that KTR considered criticizing others great. TRS leaders were in general habituated to speaking in contemptuous language, he added.

"I used to remind them every time they resorted to language like this, of the importance of culture and attitude in politics," he said, and advised the Congress leaders to ignore the outbursts of the Chief Minister and of any TRS leader. He also asked his party men to behave in a dignified manner by maintaining restraint.

"We too can speak in the same language if we want to, but it will only attract media attention, and not anyone's respect," Reddy said.

He lamented that the TRS leaders had scant respect for the Congress which had generously conceded the demand for a separate Telangana state. The people would teach a lesson to the ruling party for irreverently tongue-lashing others, he said.

Deputy CLP leader Jeevan Reddy alleged that the TRS MPs sat silently in Parliament when Prime Minister Narendra Modi insulted the formation of Telangana. He also claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was mortgaging the interests of Telangana due to the fear of the CBI.

Former minister Geetha Reddy pulled up KTR for using filthy language despite being an educated person. She also alleged that KCR had touched Sonia Gandhi's feet after the formation of Telangana along with his family members, but was now spitting venom at the same person. Taking objection to KTR calling Rahul Gandhi a "pappu", Geetha Reddy reminded him that Gandhi had caused a tremor in the Gujarat elections just a month back.
