State Congress Protests Demonetization
Several Congress leaders in Kurnool on Wednesday rallied against the demonetization of the 500 and 1,000 currency bills by the Centre.

Former Union Minister K Jayasurya Prakash Reddy, DCC President P Lakshmi Reddy and other Congress activists rallied against the demonetisation of the 500 and 1,000 currency bills in Kurnool on Wednesday.
During the rally, Jayasurya Prakash Reddy inquired the Andhra Bank Assistant Manager on the plight of depositors.
Speaking to the media later, he accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of causing distress to the common man by banning the two notes, and claimed that the corrupt had managed to convert the banned notes into smaller denominations and the new Rs. 2,000 notes without any hassle.
The former Union Minister opined that the upper limit of Rs. 2.50 lakhs on tax-free deposits should be relaxed to Rs. 5 lakhs or Rs. 10 lakhs for the convenience of the middle-class, farmers, and families saving money for marriages.
Kurnool city Congress President S Buchi Babu, DCC Vice-Presidents S Venugopal Reddy and Y V Ramana, General Secretary M P Thippanna, and leaders Ramana Reddy, Chandra Reddy, Khaleel Basha, NSUI District President G Naga Madhu Yadav, Youth Congress District President D Khasin, and Mahila Congress leaders Saramma, P Rajeswari, P Sujatha, Rajeswari Devi and Haseena took part in the rally.
