Opposition Creating Hysteria Over Note Ban: BJP
Andhra Pradesh BJP leader S Vishnuvardhan Reddy slammed the Opposition in Telangana and elsewhere for creating panic and hysteria among people.
Hyderabad | 23rd November 2016
Andhra Pradesh wing BJP leader S Vishnuvardhan Reddy today pointed out the results of a national survey, conducted by the Centre on November 21, which found out that nearly 81% of the nation was okay with bearing with the inconvenience caused due to the demonetization of the two currency bills, and slammed the Opposition in Telangana and elsewhere for creating panic and hysteria among people.
Speaking to media at the Telangana BJP office, he said that Party National President Amit Shah would visit Andhra Pradesh on November 26 and address a public meeting at Tadepalligudem, which would be attended by Union Ministers including M Venkaiah Naidu.
He assured the people that the NDA-led government had the best interests of the people in mind when it banned the two notes, and pointed out that the move was similar to other welfare programmes taken up by the it for the welfare of farmers. He asked people and the Opposition to view the ban as a welfare project that would, in the long run, help alleviate poverty.
Modi took the decision only to combat corruption and retrieve unaccounted wealth, he said, and claimed that only hoarders of black money would complain about the move. The BJP leader said the problems being faced by the people at the moment were not due to the ban on the two notes itself, but due to the corrupt who had been stashing illegal wealth in India and abroad.
Taking a dig at Opposition parties including the Left, he asked whether they supported the corrupt.
