Pointing out the troubles being faced by people in Telangana and elsewhere due to the sudden demonetization of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 currency bills, AICC Secretary V Hanumantha Rao claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not bothered about the common man's agony.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Point on Sunday, Rao alleged that several marriages were being postponed due to the sudden move.
Rao took personal potshots at the PM and claimed that since the latter had "deserted" his wife, he wouldn't understand family responsibilities of the common man which required money to be executed.
The AICC Secretary claimed that the new Rs. 2,000 currency bill was improperly designed.
He also alleged that the BJP had converted its black money to white several months prior to the announcement of the demonetization.
Rao alleged that the BJP government at the Centre took the step only to gain a strong ground in the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP succeeded depriving the Opposition of campaign money in the UP elections, he claimed.
