BJP MP Bandi Sanjay today alleged that the Congress had cheated the people badly through its budget for 2024-25 presented today in the Assembly.
Addressing a gathering of party workers at his Prajahita Yatra in Medipally of Jagtial district, he said that more than Rs 5 lakh crore were required to implement the promises made by the Congress in its election campaigning, but that the funds allocated for them in the budget were only Rs 53,000 crore.
He also alleged that the Congress government had betrayed the BCs in the budget, and added that the party had also completely ignored its promise to allocate 16% funds for the education sector.
"There is no sync between the promises made by the Congress and the budgetary allocations. The Congress government has basically said that it would not be able to fulfill its election promises. This is the same party that betrayed former P V Narasimha Rao badly, not even allowing his last rites to be performed in Delhi, and so nothing more can be expected of it," he alleged.
He also pointed out that the Congress did not utter a single word against the MIM which had threatened to demolish PV Ghat, but that the BJP had threatened to demolish the headquarters of the MIM Darussalam if it so much as laid a hand on PV Ghat.
