Former Union minister and BJP leader Kavuri Sambasiva Rao today criticized Congress President Sonia Gandhi for dividing united Andhra Pradesh to perpetuate her dynasty.
Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday, Rao alleged that Sonia Gandhi had divided the State in an attempt to win Telangana and crown Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister of India.
"Sonia Gandhi divided the State with the hope that the Congress would win more seats if Telangana was created. I had asked the Party to think comprehensively before taking a decision on the bifurcation. I had even asked her to consult Seemandhra leaders to elicit their opinion. The Congress is solely responsible for the present condition of Andhra Pradesh," he alleged.
The BJP leader praised the Centre and Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu for the special package announced for the development of the residual State, and also appreciated AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for welcoming the package without creating hurdles for the Centre.
