Congress Demands CID Probe Into Study Circle Scam
The Telangana Congress demanded a probe by the Crime Investigation Department into the alleged misappropriation of funds in the Telangana Study Circle.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy has demanded a probe by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) into the alleged misappropriation of funds in the Telangana Study Circle.
Accompanied by ex-MPs V Hanumantha Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar, and other leaders, Reddy visited the dharna camp being organized by the students in the Study Circle premises in Banjara Hills on Tuesday.
Speaking to mediapersons later, Reddy said that the Director of the Study Circle was being accused of misappropriating funds amounting to over Rs 7 crores. He said that the Study Circle imparted training to students of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for the All India Services exams, and therefore the state government should take a serious note of the allegations being levelled by the students.
Reddy demanded stern action against those who misappropriated the funds of the Study Circle and also asked the government to take steps to recover the amount.
He said that the Congress would raise the issue in the next session of the Legislative Assembly.
He also demanded that the government provide more facilities to the students of the Study Circle.
