Congress Complains Over K K Survey Predicting BRS Lead

Congress MLCs Balmuri Venkat and Addanki Dayakar lodged a complaint with the Returning Officer over the survey that predicted a BRS lead, claiming it violated the MCC.

The survey controversy surrounding the Jubilee Hills by-election has stirred political circles.

Congress MLCs Balmuri Venkat and Addanki Dayakar have raised strong objections to a survey report released by a firm named K K Survey. In this regard, they today lodged a complaint with Jubilee Hills Returning Officer (RO) Sairam at the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkat said that the survey released by K K Survey had blatantly violated the Model Code of Conduct, and that publishing such surveys was prohibited while the code of conduct was in force.

He alleged that the survey was deliberately released to influence voters, and claimed that the so-called "survey report" was prepared within just two hours.

The MLC also accused the firm of acting under the directions of BRS working president K T Rama Rao and former minister T Harish Rao, and said that the survey aimed to mislead voters and protect the political interests of the BRS.

He said that the same firm had earlier released surveys in Haryana which did not match the actual results. Attempts to distort public opinion through such false surveys were unacceptable, he said.

The MLCs urged the RO to take action against K K Survey, and said that they would personally meet the Election Commission tomorrow to file a complaint.

They also said a formal complaint would be sent to the Central Election Commission by mail.

"KTR and Harish Rao, knowing that defeat is certain in Jubilee Hills, are resorting to such dramas. But the people stand firmly with the Congress. I am confident that our candidate will achieve a resounding victory," said Venkat.
