Congress candidate Naveen Yadav emerged victorious in the Jubilee Hills by-election, winning by a significant margin of 24,729 votes.
The by-election, held on November 11, 2025, recorded a voter turnout of 1,94,631. Naveen Yadav secured 98,988 votes, while Maganti Sunitha of the BRS (whose husband Maganti Gopinath's passing necessitated the by-election) received 74,259 votes. BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy polled 17,061 votes.
Throughout all counting rounds, the Congress candidate maintained a steady and substantial lead over the BRS nominee.
BJP's Deepak Reddy failed to secure enough votes to even retain his deposit, and subsequently left the counting centre. To retain their deposits, candidates needed to secure at least 32,439 votes. However, Reddy fell short, receiving fewer than 20,000 votes. Across ten rounds of counting, Reddy managed only 17,061 votes, resulting in him losing his deposit.
While the BRS appealed to the voters' emotions following the unexpected passing of the sitting MLA Gopinath, the Congress urged voters to prioritise development over sentiment.
