Union Minister and Congress In-Charge of AP Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad will come to Hyderabad on Monday on a 2-day visit to assess the situation of the Congress party, and to address various issues that have been begging for notice for quite some time.
Internal conflicts are rife within the party, with senior Congress ministers complaining that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy had gotten into the habit of taking crucial decisions without consulting the party members.
Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's
landslide victory in the Kadapa by-elections did deal a severe blow to the Congress party, but this hit pales in comparision with the damage being done by the Congress MLAs and MPs publicly supporting Jagan.
Ghulam Nabi Azad is scheduled to meet Congress leaders in Hyderabad at 4pm on Monday, to finalise the action to be taken against errant ministers who are voicing their support for Jagan, and to decide on the stand to be taken on the Telangana issue. The decision that will be taken on Telangana will influence the Centre's take on the Srikrishna Committee Report.
Azad is also expected to garner the opinion of the party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other members so as to help chart the right plan of action to deal with the problems plaguing the party.
