Brandishing brooms and shouting slogans, Congress activists, on Wednesday, staged a protest in front of Telugu Desam Party leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu's residence, demanding his immediate and unconditional apology for his comments against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
Trying to outdo one another in their sloganeering, the Congress activists demanded that Gali withdraw his objectionable and irresponsible remarks against the party hierarchy, immediately.
The activists said that the TDP leader has no moral right to comment on Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, and pointed out that he had no stature before the Congress leadership.
They also pointed out that not a single person involved with micro finance institutions was close to AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, and that he was in no way connected to it.
Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu had, earlier, alleged that no restrictions were being imposed on the interest collected by these companies due to the pressure brought about by the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress activists warned that they would intensify their agitation if the TDP leaders did not withdraw his remarks against their leaders.
