Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Monday said that the Congress' stand over the response to be sent to the Group of Ministers (GoM) over the bifurcation of Andhra pradesh would be made clear on Tuesday.
Talking to reporters after convening a meeting with party leaders from Telangana region here, Botsa said that he had heard the views of people from the Telangana region, and that a final decision would be taken only after holding consultations with Seemandhra leaders along with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday evening.
He clarified that separate meetings were held with the leaders of both the regions, with the aim to accommodate the views and sentiments of people of both the Telangana and the Seemandhra regions.
Botsa said that the Congress leaders would send a single opinion to the Centre, in response to the Union Home Ministry's letter.
Meanwhile, Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy urged Botsa to send a response to the GoM on Telangana in concordance with the Congress Working Committee's resolution, favouring the formation of Telangana state.
The leaders from Telangana region, who held a meeting at Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Raja Narasimha's residence here, have decided to meet President of India Pranab Mukherjee, seeking hastening the process of Telangana formation. (INN)
